The potential uses for Postech Screw Piles are virtually endless. Anything that needs a firm foundation can be placed upon our screw piles. Take bollards for example. Bollards are used to provide protection from vehicle traffic in a wide variety of cases. ATM machines, sidewalk restaurants, storefronts, and banks use bollards for protection against both careless drivers and criminals who would try to crash through their façade to rob them.
For bollards to provide the necessary protection, they need to be firmly anchored with a solid foundation. Postech Screw Piles are the easiest way to provide a firm foundation for bollards, reducing costs and installation time over other options.
Bollards are also commonly used in the installation of expensive equipment that can’t afford to be damaged or would cause a safety hazard if damaged. In these cases, our screw piles help ensure that any vehicles which hit the bollard are stopped before striking the equipment.
Firmly anchored
Being firmly anchored well into the earth, Postech Screw Piles use the very strength of the ground and the overburden of the weight of the earth resting on their blades to hold the bollards in place. They are not easily moved, except with the right equipment and technique, unique to Postech. Anything that strikes the equipment has to move not only the bollard and anchoring screw pile, but a large amount of earth as well.
This sensitive equipment can also be installed over Postech Screw Piles as well. Things like gas tanks, which need secure mounting, can be installed on screw piles, ensuring a firm foundation and greatly reducing any risk of the tank moving from ground tremors, vibration caused by passing vehicles, or high winds.
Gas tanks
Gas tanks of this type are often installed on a concrete slab. Postech Screw Piles are much easier and faster to install, providing the same protection for the gas tank at a fraction of the cost. Postech Screw Piles and your gas tank can be installed in the same day, rather than having to wait for the concrete to set before installing the tank.
